A Note to Parents:
The My Daughters Can We Talk INC Girls program is designed to be used with parental involvement and minor children
should be supervised by a qualified adult when completing any activities suggested. Parents, please read through this
handbook with your daughter if you wish her to get the most out of the My Daughters Can We Talk INC Girls program.
Much of the information will be of more interest to you than to her. Welcome to My Daughters Can We Talk INC Girls
organization.
People have come to America from all over the world and the strength of our nation lies in the diversity of its people... their
histories, their religions, their foods, their stories, their art and music. The freedom to express our heritage is just one of the freedoms that so many of our men and women have died to protect for more than 200 years.
My Daughter Can We Talk INC Girls celebrate the American spirit that makes us great. Our country was built upon a strong faith in God, strong family values, and the acceptance of those who are different than ourselves. We are a people of loyalty, of faith, of innovation. We pride ourselves on our resourcefulness and our freedoms. These are the traits our country was built on, but they are slowly being eroded away in a culture of instant gratification and irresponsibility. The My Daughters Can We Talk INC Girls program seeks to restore a focus on good moral character, patriotism, community service, and a love of learning that is being lost.
The name My Daughter Can We Talk INC was chosen because one of the definitions of the word “Talk” it is “an important
word leading to our girls’ success an outlet for the freedom of the mind and release of stress causing young girls to be
successful in life.” Realizing their voice matters. The American spirit thrives upon the constant desire to learn new things,
to ask more questions, and find more answers.
Communication is the foundation of our program. We believe that girls can do anything they set their minds to and should
have the opportunity to explore any subject that interests them. For this reason we have made a commitment to listening
to them and take in consideration virtually any subject a girl wishes to learn about with the exception of controversial
topics we feel are better addressed by parents or religious leaders. We currently have certificates and badges available to
earn and are adding more every year. Included in our badge selection is character badges that address everything from joy and honesty to responsibility and modesty. These badges encourage girls to put these traits to use in their own lives,
helping them to be good, well-mannered, self-directed, respectful, disciplined, and honorable citizens.
There was once a time when the educational theory for girls was based on the fact that a woman’s place was in the home;
her education and abilities were carefully centered around the present and future homemaking activities.
Then the pendulum swung the other direction as the women battled for equal rights within the workplace. Simply being a
homemaker was suddenly considered a lowly position. Frontier Girls recognize not only the ability of women to excel in the
career of their choice, but more importantly the continued need for strong and loving mother’s In the home. As long as
women bear the children and influence their early years, they are the most potent force in developing the kind of world
and the kind of community in which we wish to live.
Our program is designed to help girls develop essential life skills, as well as a desire to explore and learn about the things
around them. Our focus is about patriotism, good character and a love of learning. Girls are encouraged to try new things,
take risks, and learn from their mistakes in a supportive environment. Girls should be given a chance to be decision makers and leaders and to gain confidence in their own abilities. MDCWT Girls is still a very new program and we are constantly making improvements. If you have any questions or comments regarding our program, we would love to hear from you.
Mission Statement
Raising women of honor to be the mothers and leaders of the future, through life skills, leadership, character building,
teamwork, and service to others.
Our mission shows our belief that girls can do anything they set their minds to. From the President of the United States to
a mother of ten, their future is theirs to decide. Regardless of what they choose, there are certain skills and character traits that will always hold them in good standards and these are what we are hoping to teach.
The Daughter Can We Talk Motto, Promise, and Creed are the backbone of what we believe and the code of conduct that
we expect from all of our members. When you join MDCWT Girls, you must promise to do your best to live by these
words.
